The manufacturer of the tested product (Rosmagain™ by Soulflower) funded the study, and one author is employed by the manufacturer.

One author has financial ties to the manufacturer of the product being tested (the Soulflower Rosemary Redensyl Hair Growth Serum). While conflicts of interest were disclosed per ICMJE guidelines, this creates a potential bias concern.

The study specifically tested a mixture of four essential oils (thyme, rosemary, lavender, and cedarwood) in carrier oils for alopecia areata (a specific autoimmune condition causing hair loss).

The paper shows the oil blend was effective, but it's not clear if rosemary alone was responsible The condition studied (alopecia areata) is autoimmune-related hair loss, not typical androgenetic alopecia or general hair thinning

If the claim interprets this as "rosemary oil (alone) helps with general hair growth," this could be overstating evidence since the study used a blend of oils

The study was NOT designed to answer whether rosemary oil helps with hair growth in humans. This is a preclinical animal study using mice and cell culture. Animal models do not directly translate to human efficacy.
