Study Design & Findings: 47 advanced cancer patients took Reishi extract for 12 weeks while researchers measured immune markers. Main Issue: No control group existed—all patients received Reishi, so changes cannot be attributed to the treatment versus time, disease progression, or placebo effects. The study was also funded by the company selling the product tested. Classification: This receives a "Misinformation" because the paper found NO statistically significant effects on any immune parameter. Recommendations: Future research needs randomized, placebo-controlled trials with adequate sample sizes, independent funding, and testing in diverse populations.
