    • Only one of two outcomes showed an effect: Supplements slowed how fast damage crept toward the center of vision, but did not slow the overall growth of the damaged area — the measure officially recognised by the FDA for approving AMD treatments
    • Statistical concerns: When testing many comparisons at once, some results may be due to chance. The key p-values (0.011–0.017) do not survive standard multiple-testing correction
    • No improvement in vision demonstrated: No significant improvement in visual acuity was shown during the trial period — any visual benefit remains theoretical and long-term
    • Bottom line: Suggestive but not conclusive — this exploratory analysis needs confirmation in a prospective trial designed specifically to test this question
