Blue light glasses improve sleep quality

Blue light glasses are designed with special lenses that filter out a portion of this high-energy visible light, reducing the strain your eyes experience during long hours in front of phones, computers, and tablets. By limiting blue light exposure, these glasses may help ease symptoms of digital eye strain -- including dryness, blurry vision, and headaches that tend to build up throughout the day. Many people also find that wearing them in the evening helps their body wind down more naturally, since blue light is known to interfere with melatonin production and disrupt sleep.

    • Bottom line: Promising pilot study, but too small and statistically underpowered to confidently support the claim.
