Women with anxiety disorders during pregnancy are at increased risk of intense postnatal depressive symptoms: a prospective survey of the MATQUID cohort
Published 2004Reviewer Insight12/4/2025The study is a good try to answer this question, but the sample size is too small. The affected women with postnatal depressive symptoms were under 20 for each group. The study didn't show how the other variables could affect the two groups, they mentioned they corrected for them but with this small sample size, better proof is needed to take a stance on this claim.
